Creating and Managing Groups in Zoho Connect

Creating and Managing Groups in Zoho Connect

Groups in Zoho Connect act as dedicated collaboration hubs for specific departments, project squads, or interest areas.

Group Types

  • Public Groups: Anyone in the network can see content and participate, but members must be added by an admin or approved via join requests.

  • Private Groups: Restricted spaces where membership is by admin invitation only, and content remains invisible to non-members.
  • All Hands Groups: Members of the network are automatically assigned to such group.

Creating a Group

  1. Navigate to Groups from the left-hand navigation panel.
  2. Click the + (Add) icon in the top-right corner.
  3. Enter the group name, description, and group category.
  4. Choose the group type (All Hands, Public, or Private).
  5. Add initial members and click Create.

Managing Group Membership & Roles

  • Adding Members: Open the group, select Add Members from the top-right menu, select users, and confirm.
  • Role Delegation: Network admins can assign multiple Group Admins or configure Custom Roles to delegate moderation and member management.
